Busy Busy Busy

I'm sorry guys, Ive been neglectful of ye ol' blog, but I've been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest.

I will go in chronological order...

1st!
Happy Birthday Petra you 3? year old. (don't want to give out all her secrets!) Doesn't she look pretty? And she has been doing a kick-ass job at work with all the new stuff she's been doing.

2nd: Happy Anniversary to me! ( and Jeff) This is my anniversary gift, Thanks honey! Jeff got a flat screen HD TV for his room. We are working on making it the Game/Movie room soon, since the Blue Ray/PlayStation is in there. He loves it.

I haven't named her yet, but it was awesome to fold up my wheel and head for the mountains where my guild had a meeting at Dulitz Christmas tree farm. This place was total relaxation 6 hours of sitting and spinning and shopping in Springville. My friend Cheryl asked if I was up for an adventure, so on the way home we took the back way down the hill. Some of the hairpin curves we encountered I have only seen in those cartoons where Goofy and Daffy are driving in the mountains and they take a break and eat lunch in the trailer while the truck goes crazy. It was fun and we just missed a big thunderstorm on the way down. I love a good drive.

OK and here we go. THANK YOU CJ! for saving Jeff's appendage. OK, so I panicked when he came in holding his finger screaming my (whole name, DANIELLE) for a towel! I admit I froze, but managed to get him to ol' Kaweah Delta for 6 stitches. Its good to know people on the inside :) Jeff was grateful to my Knitting connections and so am I! (Don't freak out Robin and Rodney)

Jeff + Skill Saw =

I tried to reposition this pic, but it looked a little too phallic. (Shannon stop laughing).

All better now!

I also want to mention Lauren has been an avid swimmer lately and Shannon and Zane are soon going to be joined by a new family member, and I'm very excited for them! I better get knitting!...

Some new FO's

I spun Lauren's hair that I mixed with some silk and plied with Faulkner wool.

and I made this...

Lauren thought it was cute

I also finished the Wendy knits, "Hearts for Heidi" socks, made with yarn I dyed. Lauren tried them on, but she said they were too long for her, so I guess I get to keep them.

We had our company picnic at the Visalia Oaks field. We had tri-tip sandwiches, hotdogs and beer. Jeff was really looking forward to going, but he was sent out of county to the Humbolt fire and had to miss it.

Here is a pic of Lenny

Kathy and Anthony

I also had a big Sunday brunch. We ate and the kids went swimming.

I finished this in 1 day! Its the "Market Bag" from the free patterns on the lionbrand website. Super easy crochet project with some cotton I had laying around.

I have really been trying to finish up alot of my projects so hopefully many more to come.

Old School

Had some friends over for a big breakfast, swimming and lounging around watching TV. Having no kids and very few things to occupy young children I broke this out, and yes it still works! (and he loves my tinker toys!!!) Does this make me old? Just goes to show, video games aren't everything.

I actually have been busy...

Worked on Woman's sweater with reckless abandon...still didn't make it in time for mothers day, but she knew about my track record and was patient. Here is a pic of it unblocked. She is suppose to send me a pic with her in it, she says it fits well. I used Cotton Fleece specifically because of her complaints about hot flashes. She says its just fine.

I also tried a new method of winding yarn for dyeing stripes. Got some exercise in the making...Lauren thought it was funny to watch me trapped inside the yarn barrier walking in circles. (Yea I have 3 BBQ's don't hold it against me, proper tool for the job you know!)

Here are the results

We also attended the Sausage and beer festival put on by the Lions Club in Exeter. It is an annual tradition Jeff and I have been going to since we move to Visalia.

Here is Jeff having fun at the festival. Doesn't he look like he's having fun?

OK and here we go.....

Good bye good friend, I love you! (Even though you got 9-16mph) I really do miss you...but

Call me green, (but don't call me Al Gore, Dan would be pissed!)

I am now, once again, (as all who know me from high school) a Camry owner. I totally love it, and the first trip I made to stretch out its legs??? That's right! Trader Joe's!!! I hate that Visalia does not have one. My emailing campaign to them seems not bother them at all. They just keep telling me that they love my enthusiasm. I thought that was rude, so I asked them to stop sending me the fearless flyer because it was just a tease... I still get it!

I got this. Yea don't you wish we had one?

Washed and Ready

Well here it is, over 2oz of freshly washed (and yes it did smell like dog when I did it), Lauren fur. I have been dilligently collecting it for a few months and am ready to card with some silk.

More to come....
