Stupid Computer

Well I know its been a while, but I promised Id be back. I have been having the worst luck with our computer. Its super slooooooowwww. I did some things to it last night and it seems to be alot better. It was so slow I could not post any pictures to the blog for the last month or so. I finally just sat down and messed with it for about an hour to get it going again.

Since it has been so long there are alot of things to tell you about.

1st: Baby Cole was born. Congrats Perk, Creg, Carley and Sue. I only have camera phone pics of him right now, so I will have to post one when I finally get to meet him.

2nd: Shannon had her shower. I did a quick turn a round trip (literally 1 day) and got to see everyone which was nice. I got to visit with Eileen and her family. (they also just got a new addition to their family Ulla, their puppy, very cute) After that Shannon and Zane made the trek up to ol' Visalia for a quick visit. She is only approx. 6 mo in these pics. Guess I should have asked everyone to look at the camera...

Of course my gift was not complete, but I eventually got it done.

I had to make it gender neutral since they are not finding out what they are having. What is up with that? I guess its the new thing, because Jeff's friend Chad and Olivia just did the same thing.

Anyways its handspun Merino/Tencel silk Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmerman. They did a big article on the pattern in Spin Off because it was having an anniversary. I thought it would be perfect for this project.

My cousin, who did find out what they were having, got this. Debbie Bliss Baby Shrug in Paton's Bamboo/Silk super soft blend. This pattern is way cool and knits up quick. I hope they like it.

Halloween also came and went, very quickly I might add. Here is Sharon at our monthly Squaw Valley meeting. The theme "ghouls just want to have fun!". It was hilarious when she sauntered in wearing this. With those shoes which you can barely see she was about 6 feet tall.

And introducing Jeff's masterpiece. He is always saying he needs a hobby and got a wild hair to do a model. He said he use to do them when he was younger. He promptly got all of his gear together and took over my sewing table for the weekend. He really seemed to enjoy it, especially because he got to watch football the entire time he worked on it. Maybe I should get him one for Christmas.

The guild had Show and Sale in October. We got to spend the day spinning and answering questions about spinning and fiber. Here is the display on the handspun table. It was was a good day. This is the same event I met Sandy and Cheryl at the year before, so its especially good.

Here is my basket of wares. I sold some so I made out pretty good.

Well its sad but I gotta include this. Here is a picture of Petra on her last day....boo hoo. Its OK, tho, I still see her and talk to her often. She is eating crab legs we BBQ'd for her. (Anthony promised them to her about 2 years ago, so we had to pay up). On another note Anthony has moved to the Phoenix branch. Good luck to him.

And last but not least a little Lauren fix. Riley, Lauren and I will be hanging out for Thanksgiving because Jeff is working. We are trying to decide what to have. Lauren likes my idea of smoking a turkey breast. I'm going to haul myself to the market soon to see what looks good. My master plan is to shop on Thanksgiving to beat the crowds. I hope they still have something worth cooking. Jeff and I will celebrate the day after when he gets off, should be fun.

I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving! I have to go to the store, and Lauren is eyeballing her leash itching for a walk! See you soon ( I promise) ...
